Potential mapping assesses the current operating approach and thought processes of an organisation's personnel as well as motivational factors and skills. Mapping produces valuable added information to support both the organisation and personal development.
Potential mapping can be used:
- in change management – mapping the organisation's existing potential and steering it in the right direction
- to develop potential in young people, for example for future management or project management roles
- in monitoring and career planning
- as a basis for development as a manager or expert
Potential mapping is also useful as a basis for occupational development, in connection with internal reorganisations or for example as part of a coaching process.
Potential mapping utilises the same methods as suitability assessment, but focuses on broader examination of personal characteristics rather than suitability alone.
Potential mapping produces valuable added information for both the individual being assessed and the organisation to support personal development
